Stick with drawing. Painting, if done right, is pleasant to look at, being soft and smooth. The face is so, but in general the picture is very lackluster and poorly done. Dunno what you did to make the face look good, but do it with the rest of the picture next time

Thank you for actually no constructive critisim in your review. I mean, obviously I'm aware I'm not a strong digital painter, but really man? Really? I feel like I'm at least above a backhanded compliment like the one you gave me but I guess not. "Just draw better next time, or dont paint at all" isn't helpful, especially when you're essentially insulting me in the process. You probably don't care but it I really don't think I deserve two 1 and a half stars in a row. I know I'm not even close to the best, but you aren't even an artist yourself! You don't know how much effort I put into this, or how long it took, or why I even tried painting for the first time in months in the first place.

I don't even want to paint ever again. Thanks for that.

It took you 2 minutes to look at this and decide it wasn't even worth your time to be nice about your insult. I hope you don't do this all of the time, overly blunt and unhelpful words do nothing for anyone.

Upper body is exceptional (Though I'd prefer different apparel, like a t-shirt or something. I'm really basic :P)

But the tail is bad. Just... Bad. It honestly looks like an x-ray of a snake. The fins do look nice, though.

Could do with more detail in general.

Thanks for your critique :) it was my first time drawing a mermaid and some kind of skeleton :D I like It this way. I have found skulls of mermaids on Google that kinda looked like this ^^

Amazing shading and coloring. The palette is amazing and the colors are a joy to look at.

But the face is awful and the general shaping is weird. The proportions are very good, but I just cannot get past the atrocious face. I know I'm being very harsh, but it's true. The face really does not fit. In another context it would look good, but her, with a character from an *anime*, it looks odd if not just bad.

It may just be me being extreme, and if you choose to ignore my criticism and keep doing faces that way, it is up to you, but I must urge you to at the very least style your faces different in certain contexts or styles.

Thank you for your input! I can't help but agree. I've been realizing that my faces have started going in a very bad direction (especially when dealing with the nose). I really appreciate you bringing up this topic. This definitely gives me something to practice for the next few days! :) Hopefully I'll be able to improve on that aspect.
